Community Eye Health Screening Program

1,250 Screened
5,000 Target

Our flagship community eye health screening program brings comprehensive eye health assessment directly to underserved communities across the Democratic Republic of Congo. Using ONA's offline mobile platform, trained community health workers conduct screenings in areas with limited or no access to eye care services.

Early Detection

Through community-level screening, we identify individuals at risk of vision loss before conditions become severe or irreversible. Early detection of cataracts, glaucoma, and refractive errors enables timely intervention and treatment.

Access to Care

Many communities we serve are located hours away from the nearest eye clinic. By bringing screening directly to communities and facilitating referrals, we reduce barriers to accessing specialized eye care services.

Community Engagement

The program engages community leaders, health workers, and families in understanding the importance of eye health. This grassroots approach builds awareness and creates sustainable pathways for ongoing eye health monitoring.
