Preparing for the 2026 Public Launch
As we enter 2026, ONA is preparing for an exciting milestone: our public launch. After months of testing, refining, and learning, we are ready to expand access to mobile eye health screening across the Democratic Republic of Congo and beyond.
From Prototype to Platform
ONA began as an idea: what if we could bring eye health screening closer to communities using technology that works even in the most challenging environments? Over the past year, we've transformed that idea into a working platform, tested in real-world settings with feedback from health workers and communities.
The journey has been both challenging and rewarding. We've learned invaluable lessons about what works, what doesn't, and how to design technology that truly serves the needs of frontline health workers and the communities they serve.
What We've Learned
Testing ONA in pilot communities has taught us that simplicity and reliability are paramount. Health workers need tools that are intuitive, fast, and dependable—especially in environments with limited resources and connectivity.
We've also learned the importance of training and ongoing support. Technology alone is not enough; health workers need practical training, clear protocols, and responsive support to use the platform effectively.
Our pilot phase showed us that when technology is designed with users and communities in mind, it can make a real difference. We're excited to bring ONA to more communities in 2026.
What's Next
In 2026, we will officially launch ONA to the public and expand partnerships with NGOs, health institutions, and community health programs. Our goal is to reach thousands of individuals at risk of vision loss and facilitate timely access to eye care services.
We're also working to continuously improve the platform based on user feedback and evolving best practices in digital health. Innovation doesn't stop at launch—it's an ongoing commitment.
